Fri night June 15 – Sun 17 We have arranged a group outdoor training weekend with a professional instructor, following the success of our 2017 courses. At a 1-6 ratio with the instructor, two days of instruction is £117 (if we run with four trainees it will be £145). We agree the content of the course with the instructor which supports you starting to club climb outside, initially as a competent outdoor top-rope setter and a trad’ or Sport ‘second’. You will meet others new to outdoor climbing and new to the MMC. The training is held on a club meet weekend so that you can meet existing members – we welcome you to join us for a curry on Saturday night to share stories of the day. It is a camping meet and we arrange car shares/ shared hire cars/ pick ups from the local rail station. See ‘Meet Us’ and ‘Meets’ for details.
After the great turnout and amazing weather at the Bowles Rocks event this year, 2 June training courses are now full with a 1:4 and a 1:6 ratio group set up for the weekend. However, due to continued interest from new members we may be able to run another training weekend later in the year. If you’re interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The base line prerequisite for the course is again, to able to tie in and belay indoors, so that the instructor can quickly move you all on to outdoor techniques.
