Getting started with good instruction will provide you with a great base for club climbing.
Your local climbing wall may offer events with instruction to give you a first taste of real rock.
Or check out Plas y Brenin, The National Mountain Centre, as they offer a course specifically designed for you: Moving Out.
We understand that the move to outdoor climbing from indoor usually takes more than one course or a single weekend.

If you can tie-in without help and belay safely indoors, put Saturday 21st April 2018 in your diary (keep Sunday 22nd in reserve in case of rain on Saturday), for a repeat of our hugely popular social outdoor top roping event at Bowles’s Rocks. It is accessible by train from London. Experienced members will put up top ropes on numerous routes of different styles for you to try. Meet others new to outdoor climbing and enjoy a drink or dinner in a nearby pub in the early evening. See our Reports tab and Bowles Rocks Intro Meet for a summary of the 2017 event and accounts of other events in 2017. Please note this is not a training event.

To express interest in a new-to-outdoor 2018 programme contact we’ll be pleased to hear from you.
