For the late May bank holiday the club is heading to scenic Stonethwaite in Borrowdale at the heart of the Lake District – one of the best places in the UK to go hiking. We’ll be staying at Chapel House Farm campsite. This is a superb location for fell walking and climbing with England’s highest peak – Scafell Pike – Green Gable and Great Gable all nearby. Shepherd’s Crag with quality routes at various grades is also within easy distance. There are great low level walks through woodlands, valleys and picturesque villages including Derwent Water – while Keswick is not far for gear shopping and tea shops!

Located in the peaceful Borrowdale Valley, the campsite has hot showers, toilets, a washing up room and drinking water. There is no hard standing or electric hook-up for campervans.
