Steve Melvin plays with a band every Monday at the Three Stags Pub in Kennington Road, nearest tube Lambeth North. This is an informal "jamming session" and a number of members have been meeting on a Monday to support Steve, enjoy the atmosphere and to catch up with fellow club members. The inquest in to the death of Marvin Royce was held on Thursday 30th October. Evidence was provided by Simon Atkins, the ambulance/rescue services, the police, and a local climbing instructor. The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death and in summing up gave a recommendation that an investigation be made into whether the material strength of the rock on popular climbs adjacent to where protection is often placed by climbers is affected by repeated and frequent use.
