1st Cita Flamenca: Tues 23rd November Elsa and Ivone are holding a goodbye bash (the are returning to Spain) at

Fireworks Party: Saturday 6th November The traditional Firework party was almost cancelled this year but at the last minute Miles stepped up to the plate and took the various MMC waifs and strays into his flat where a good time was had so a big thankyou to him.

Dinner Meet The Dinner meet is almost full now so if you can’t get in remember to book earlier next year. There has been some debate as to whether the dress code should be DJ’s or fleeces. While acknowledging that The Heights is not a DJ sort of place it was felt that some effort should be made, so, dig out your loudest and most flamboyant kit and we’ll see if we can’t add a little style to the proceedings. That means no Trainers (sorry Rick not even you other pair), no fleeces and definitely NO RON HILLS.
The F***wit award is normally the highlight of the evening so try and dredge up from your collective memories the most foetid and disreputable events of the past year and email them to Kate Gerard so that she has an outside chance of not being a two time winner (surely loser? Ed.) |

Organiser: Robert Brooks (m) 07801 646217 (e) newyear@themmc.org.uk It is but a few short weeks till Christmas and what better activity after Christmas than to prise yourself off the sofa, set your woolly hat at a rakish angle and sally forth for a healthy tramp across the Scottish mountains. Yes its the MMC New Years Hootenanny at Graigower Lodge, Newtonmore in the Cairngorms. This is an excellent location for winter climbing, walking, cross country skiing and if you are lucky downhill skiing. |
Some say that the Scots dour, sour-faced types ruing the state of their sports teams and the fact that the English have nabbed the best end of the island but they do put on a good Hogmany show and Newtonmore is famous for its torchlit processions, sinister affairs full of Whickerman pagan lore and brooding malice. Also word has it that "Big Ted" Marler is flying in from Cathay specially to hand out the Ferrero Rocher so you won't want to miss that ! This meet is always popular so book your place soon. Cost is £44 per person for the four nights. |
