Pub Nights

Pub Meet Dirty Dicks, Bishopsgate, right by Liverpool Street Station . Contact Rob Johnson membership@themmc.org.uk if you are a prospective new member. This follows the monthly committee meeting so there is guaranteed to be a decent crop of old members there too. It seems to be getting more popular if the bleary eyed folk stumbling around Bishopsgate at chucking out time after the last meeting are anything to judge by

Dinner Meet

It is depressing to think in during these lazy, hazy, crazy days that the summer, like life, is alas short. But as the shadows lengthen and the evenings unmask their first hint of an autumnal chill we can all look forward to the annual dinner. This is taking place in the Brecon Beacons on 24-26 November. Contact Paul Grinnel on 07812345504 or at dinner@themmc.org.uk and book early to avoid disappointment.

The AGM

The Annual General Meeting, Yes it doesn't seem a year but it is time for the AGM again. As usual it will be held at the Nell of Old Drury . Meet from 7.30 onwards on 18 October and a free drink for all attendees (as long they are paid up members) If you want to stand for a postion on the committee email Simon Atkins Chair

Robin's Housewarming

Word Up! It appears that Robin Mitton has joined the landed gentry (or what passes for that in Matlock) and is having a housewarming hootenanny on Saturday 11 November! Don't want to blow his cover on the website so you can contact him at mutton@mmc.org.uk

Fireworks

The Committee is working on some sort of Firework party around 5 November. We will keep you informed

The Beta

New Wall in London

A new climbing wall has opened in Swiss Cottage (still nowt decent south of the river). If anyone wants to visit and do a review please let me know.

The club has an ever expanding collection of books for use by members. These include climbing and walking guides, as well as guides to first aid, navigation, mountain weather etc. For a complete list check out the website.
