Our 2020 events to help you get started club climbing outside with us:
18 April 2020 meet us and other prospective new members at the The Castle Climbing Centre (if you can tie-in without help and belay safely indoors) and afterwards at the Brownswood pub. Click to email: email@example.com to arrange to meet us. (Also click/tap ‘Meet Us’ and ‘Social’ for location and times).
If you can’t yet tie in and belay, ask about short courses at your local climbing wall, to get you up to speed.
25 April 2020 (keep the 26th free in case of bad weather) new members intro meet; join us for a day of outdoor top rope climbing at Bowles Rocks near Tunbridge Wells. Accessible by train for the day from London. For more details click/tap Meet Us and ‘Social’. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to get your name on the list. Again, you must be able to tie in and belay. Note, this is not a training event.
22-25 May 2020 we have arranged a group outdoor training weekend in North Wales. You will meet others new to outdoor climbing and new to the MMC. The training is held on a club meet weekend so that you can meet existing members – we welcome you to join us at the local pub on Saturday night to share stories of the day. It is a camping meet and we arrange car shares/ shared hire cars/ pick ups from the local rail station. See ‘Meet Us’ and ‘Meets’ for details.
The base line prerequisite for the course is again, to able to tie in and belay indoors, so that the instructor can quickly move you all on to outdoor techniques.
If you have any questions about your experience level and what you want to achieve, contact email@example.com for a chat.
