SUMMARY:MMC's 50th Birthday!
DESCRIPTION:The MMC turns 50! \nWe’re throwing a party\, come along. \nWe’re an incredible club filled with amazing club members. To celebrate\, we have booked a spot at: the Camden Club: https://thecamdenclub.co.uk. \n\nDate: 1st September 2024\nClosest Station: Chalk Farm (Northern Line – fingers crossed no strikes!) – their main access method is by lift.\nTime: 4-10pm! Their menu is here: https://thecamdenclub.co.uk/menus/ \nRSVP HERE: https://forms.gle/aPbaZGKeWm4oeX6r7\n\nEveryone’s invited! The more the merrier. Members\, friends\, prospectives\, & those curious about the club. Those with children\, the Camden Club owner has told us that children are welcome though are being asked to stick close to their parents/guardians due to the many obstacles in the room like equipment and chairs. \nIf you have pictures of meets and events you’ve been to with the club and club members (official / unofficial events!) that you would love to share with us\, please send them to chair@themmc.org.uk \nWhat to expect at the 50th Party? \nThere’s food available to buy for dinner (it’s really quite good\, I tried it!) and a huge selection of drinks.  \n\n\nWe will be displaying pictures and objects from the last 50 years. I’ve had a preview and it’s pretty cool.\n\n\nYou’ll hear about the club’s early history from John\, followed by David’s account covering the club’s history after this and his personal perspective. After the historical stuff\, you’ll get an insight into the club as it is now from Ali T. 😁\n\n\nWe’ll then get a great couple of talks from our current members – one on their adventures and another from Oli B\, on his personal journey in climbing and injury recovery.\n\nThis will all spaced out\, with plenty of time to catch up and chatter! \n\nSome pictures from the Club’s 40th Party: \n \n
