SUMMARY:Social Climb & New Members Welcome: Bowles Rocks
DESCRIPTION:Bowles Rocks is one of the more popular Southern Sandstone outcrops of southeast England\, a soft sandstone of Cretaceous age near Tunbridge Wells. \nIt is deservedly popular as it is a great spot for people of all ages and abilities to climb\, with convenient onsite facilities and parking. \nExperienced climbers will be on hand to set up top roped routes for everyone to have a go on\, so come on down and meet the club. \nDate: 3rd April \nLocation: Bowles Rocks \nTime (Public Transport): London Bridge or London Victoria train to Eridge OR London Charing Cross train to Tunbridge Wells and taxi from there \nTime (Private Transport): Please aim to arrive at around 10:30 / 11:00 \nPub: The Huntsman – https://huntsmanpuberidge.co.uk \nOrganiser: Oli \nRegister your interest : Please complete this form \nCaveats: There may be last minute changes as a result of bad weather\, as climbing on the soft sandstone in anything other than good/dry conditions is very damaging to the rock. \n\nAll attendees must have their own climbing shoes and harness. It would be very helpful if you also brought your own belay device and locking carabiner.  If you have a helmet\, it’s your choice whether to bring it or not. Chalk is not forbidden\, but discouraged due to its effect on the rock\, and please leave your chalk brushes at home.\nIf you have have a 30m rope\, slings\, or carabiners please let us know if you are able to bring them for the day so we can set up additional routes. An old towel or mat to clean our shoes on before climbing will help us preserve the rock also.\nThis is not a training session but we will have experienced members on hand to observe your belaying technique if you are new to the club or you’d like us to observe any rusty skills post-long periods off climbing.

SUMMARY:Fontainebleau Bunnies
DESCRIPTION:A little bit of je ne quoi in the sand forest of a Paris suburb. Did I sell it to you? Did you know that there is a palace there? Who cares\, it’s a Boulderer’s paradise! The forest of Fontainebleau lies in the presence of sand\, plateaux and sandstone boulders and rocks. 16\,111 routes in 90 crags\, isn’t it glorious? \nThis is a traditional overseas meet that has been organised for many years by Simon MC. \nThe plan: \n\nLeave Thursday 14th April after work and return Monday 18th April\, some time in the afternoon.\nTravel is by car via the Eurotunnel. Anyone wanting to meet the group via other means i.e. plane can be picked up at Fontainebleau station.\nMajor requirements are an enthusiasm for bouldering\, bouldering gear\, and camping equipment including sleeping items\, stoves\, and for luxury maybe even bring a camping chair!\n\nBouldering gear includes: Climbing shoes and chalk bag / liquid chalk. Bouldering mats are advised but not everyone needs to bring one. \nForm: Spaces are now closed due to the event occurring in the next week.
