May Day in the mountains

The first camping meet of the year. This year we've booked 12 places at the Snowden Base Camp. The campsite overlooks Cwellyn Lake and has spectacular uninterrupted views towards Mount Snowdon and Mynydd Mawr with various forestry walks on it’s doorstep. The river Gwyrfai runs alongside both camping fields to Cwellyn Lake. The amenity block is open 24/7 and is located on the first field near the main carpark. Late May in the Lakes

For the late May bank holiday the club is heading to scenic Stonethwaite in Borrowdale at the heart of the Lake District - one of the best places in the UK to go hiking. We'll be staying at Chapel House Farm campsite. This is a superb location for fell walking and climbing with England's highest peak - Scafell Pike - Green Gable and Great Gable all nearby. A meet with the emphasis on welcoming prospective new members. The Peak District has it all: very accessible climbing (Sport and 'trad), bouldering, walking in the White and Dark Peak areas and mountain biking.  Ten prospective new members who are new to outdoors climbing will get 2 days of training from a professional instructor (in two groups). This year we've booked the stunning Nab View bunkhouse situated in the stunning Edale Valley.
