SUMMARY:EASTER Torridon - N West Highlands - 13th to 17th April FULL
DESCRIPTION:Hut full. Camping at Torridon available. \nSituated in the remote far north west of Scotland Torridon has some of the best mountain walking and mountaineering in Scotland. Activities will depend on weather and conditions and could be anything from winter mountaineering to spring walks in the valleys. There is something for everyone here and if you have never been this is a must go to destination. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nTorridon is just that little bit further away than the honeypot destinations of Ben Nevis\, Glencoe and the Cairngorms and as such is rarely crowded retaining a real adventurous character. The terrain is hard and rugged\, the ascents are long and the summit ridges high and exposed. The three Torridon “Giants” Beinn Allign\, Liathach\, and Beinn Eighe are the obvious challenge\, but there are many easier hidden gems to be found among the lesser surrounding peaks and in nearby Applecross. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nWe’re staying in the SMC Ling Hut situated a few minutes walk away from the road on the southern flanks of Liathach. The hut is basic but comfortable with cooking and heating by propane gas\, lighting\, and with a drying room and toilet. http://www.smc.org.uk/huts/ling. Five nights are booked over Easter from Thursday 13th through to Monday 17th. It would probably be possible for people to extend their stay either side if they wished. The drive from London is do-able in a day (11 to 12 hours). Alternatively a flight to Inverness followed by a hire car would get you there in just a few hours. \nInterested?
