SUMMARY:We're off to Scotland!
DESCRIPTION:We’re spending a week in Scotland\, join us! We will be based in Ballachulish\, nestled in the wonderful Glen Coe. \nBallachulish is ideally located between Glen Coe and Fort William\, with plenty of walking\, scrambling and climbing options nearby.  Easy access to some of Scotland’s best winter climbing on Ben Nevis\, Aonach Mor and in Glen Coe. There are loads of classic ridge walks and winter scrambles such as the Aonach Eagach Traverse\, the Ring of Steall\, the Grey Corries\, as well as valley and forest walks such as up Glen Nevis.  \nAnd most importantly at the end of the day\, there’s a really good pub nearby in Glen Coe called the Clachaig Pub\, which has a great atmosphere and is a favourite for climbers and walkers! \n\nDate: Saturday 23rd March – Saturday 30th March 2024\nTime: When you or your travelling group is ready!\nLocation: River Mill House\, Ault A’mhuillin\, Laroch Beag\, Ballachulish\, Argyllshire\, PH49 4LB – https://www.cottages.com/cottages/river-mill-house-uk5545\nOrganiser: Anna & Christine\nRegistration Form: Sign up quick\, we have spaces for now! Email: chair@themmc.org.uk\n\n  \nSafety Notice \nTo our Prospective Members – we support our members in showing the ropes to new hikers and climbers. However\, Scotland in the winter and bordering spring months requires care and reasonable winter outdoor experience.  \nPlease recognise if you haven’t had any trad-climbing training yet (if the weather allows for trad climbing) as a seconder or joined us in the previous winter meets / appropriate gear for the winter or variable weather\, you may be requested to re-plan your activities to flatter / more level ground if the members do not feel comfortable to take you out. This is a decision we will support. \nThe BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. \n \n \n \n  \n  \n  \n
