SUMMARY:Peak District - May Bank Hol new members event!
DESCRIPTION:On this meet we extend a special welcome to prospective members new to outdoor climbing. We’ve arranged professional guiding\, coaching and loan of climbing equipment over 3 days for the subsidised price of £50. We now have the 6 people minimum needed to run this offer\, closing date for instruction Tues 18th April. (Closing date for attendance on the meet without instruction\, the Weds before the meet.) 1 spaces left (11/04/17). \nThe Peaks offer sport climbing and extensive trad climbing. \nWe recommend that those new to outdoors book themselves on a course before club climbing outside. We also recognise that the move to outdoor climbing from indoors takes more than a course or a single weekend and we are offering continued support in moving outside. We have provisionally booked an instructor to offer continued coaching and training as you put your skills into practice. Support can be flexible – guiding\, coaching or more formal instruction\, depending on your level. Email chair@themmc.org.uk if you’re not sure whether this is for you.\nFor your £50\, if you choose to join the MMC following the meet\, you can upgrade to membership for just £13.25. This is the fee we pass on direct to the BMC. It entitles you to benefits including discounts and 3rd party insurance.  \nThe Peak District is also a great location to join us for varied and interesting walking\, bouldering and mountain biking. We have three walking routes planned for different part of the Peak over the weekend. \nFor non-members – contact us at: chair@themmc.org.uk to be sure not to miss out. \nMembers  – please come along to this meet to climb and walk with each other\, have a meal on Saturday evening and to welcome our prospective new members. Reply to the email invite from Alix Harrower. \nThis is a camping meet. £7.50 per person per night + cars £2. Dogs by arrangement. The North Lees campsite has a few camping pods – which can be booked direct with the site for those without a tent. A small number of spaces may also be available in a shared tent\, let Alix know if you need this. Other essential personal camping equipment: sleeping bag and mat. \nWe have a provisional booking at the Maazi curry house in Hathersage for the Sat. night for anyone interested. Walking distance from campsite.
