SUMMARY:Winter Hiking/Climbing Talk and Social 2018
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday 7th October from 6 pm for our winter hiking and climbing talks. \nDrink and food at 6 pm \nTalks from 6.30 pm \nWe have a private room booked upstairs at the Lemon Tree Pub: \n4 Bedfordbury\, Covent Garden\, London WC2N 4BP\, Some of us will have dinner together before the talk\, do join us. \nDavid Dees\, our host for the evening\, will take us through the ins and out of winter walking\, mountaineering and climbing.  He will show us a few of his tools and a few pictures\, wink\, wink! You’ll find out the minimum gear needed to come winter Hiking in the mountains. \nChris and Joe will also be there and you could ask them some questions about their recent trip to Bolivia. Food for thought! \nAfter the formal bit\, those interested in winter climbing and who have already been on a course and/or have prior experience will sit together to plan a trip for early 2019. \nMeanwhile Cath Billson\, our Treasurer and very experienced winter mountaineer\, will be happy to chat with hikers who are interested in our winter meets in the Lake District (Jan) and Brecon Beacons (Feb). \nPlease reply to socialsec@themmc.org.uk for attendance so we know how many people to expect.

DESCRIPTION:YHA Eyam.  A beautiful and characterful Victorian building in the heart of the Peak District.  This location is ideal for long walks and gritstone cragging.  Mountain and road bikers will also find this a great location. \n \nUnfortunately the YHA now demand all the money up front and will impose a 100% cancellation charge on any cancellation after 13 September – one month before!  We therefore need PAID BOOKINGS FOR THIS MEET BY TUESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER.  No payment\, no place. \n  \nPlease book as soon as you can\, so you don’t miss out on this fantastic weekend!
