SUMMARY:Wye Valley 13-14 October
DESCRIPTION:A bunk house meet in the autumn colours. End of season rock climbing on limestone\, trad’ and Sport – weather permitting. Gentle walking and a chance to practise those navigation skills in a benign environment before the winter starts. We’re staying near Symonds Yat this year\, for a change\, which offers good walking routes. Potentially some canoeing right from the landing stage at the YHA. \n \nWe’ve booked a 6-bed room at the YHA. Book early to avoid disappointment. More beds in dorms may be available in the YHA if you contact us early enough (you’ll need to pay direct with the YHA\, if you miss out on the 6 bed room). Camping on site on request\, including for vans.  \nBunk in MMC’s 6-bed room: £30 for 2 nights \nNew members enquire here: membership@themmc.org \nMeet organiser: David Dees\, express interest early so extra beds and campsite spaces can be secured if needed. Members email meets@themmc.org.uk \nCome along to the social and informal talk on Sun 17 Sept to plan for walking – this meet will be a great place to practice navigation skills in a benign environment before the winter season. (See Socials for details of the event)

We are offering 6 places for a 4-day winter climbing trip. 2 places are already taken by experienced members. The location will remain flexible until very close to departure in order to get the best conditions. Possible locations include: Scotland\, Serre Chevalier and Cogne\, Italy. Options will be discussed and planning will begin at this informal evening talk. \nCome along to find out more\, with no commitment at this early stage. A deposit to secure group accommodation will be collected a few weeks later.  \nThis is a members-only meet. Our most recently joined members are welcome. If you have little winter climbing experience already\, you will need to book a winter skills course in advance.  Experienced members can make suggestions of how and where to do this\, at the talk\, and also on hire or purchase of gear.
