SUMMARY:Cornwall at Easter
DESCRIPTION:Join us right down at the Western tip of the UK this Easter as we make the most of the looong bank holiday weekend. There are stunning sea cliffs to climb\, gorgeous countryside to walk through and fabulous beaches for those brave enough for a dip!  \nWhile both members and prospective members are welcome to this meet\, please note that climbing is restricted to members only. \n\nDate: Friday 3rd April – Monday 6th April 2026\nTime: When you or your travelling group is ready!\nLocation: Lands End Camping & Glamping – https://www.landsendcamp.co.uk/tariffs.php\nOrganiser: David Dees\nSign-up Form: https://forms.gle/VsAVMBHa712YqFC57\n\nTo our Prospective Members – we support our members in showing the ropes to new climbers\, however due to the coastal conditions for most of the climbing we restrict climbing to members only. Exceptions will be made for the member’s partners or family (with the expectation they do not climb if they are inexperienced) so they can enjoy the bank holiday together. However\, do please join us for a weekend of coastal hiking – the stunning Southwest Coastal Path is just at the doorstep of the campsite\, and a few of our members will be going on this meet for coastal walks. \nThere will be a specific trad training meet a bit later in the year and if available\, we can direct you to coast-based BMC training training sessions should you wish to gain coastal experience in a training environment. \nThe BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions. \n

SUMMARY:Social Climb - The Castle
DESCRIPTION:The Castle seems to attract MMC climbers like a magnet. You’ll usually find a few of our members hanging off the walls there\, so come along and join the chaos for an afternoon of climbing. \n\nDate: Thursday 23 April 2026\nTime: 6 pm onwards\nClosest Station: Manor House Underground Station (Piccadilly Line)\nOrganiser: Mo – socialsec@themmc.org.uk\nSign up: https://forms.gle/mcsAr3Go61sbreQ28\nPub/Foods: Optional visit to the Brownsood pub after climbing for drinks/dinner.\n\n\nProspectives – All prospective members to the club must let us know they are joining us so we can look out for you\, and as a prerequisite to joining our Bowles climbing meet on April the 18th\, and our North Wales trad climbing training meet in May\, all prospective members will need an official belay check\, so please join us on this social to check your belay technique. \nMembers – you’re more than welcome to join! Let us know if you’re coming along. \nNon-Castle members will need to pre-book or pay on arrival. Please check their website.  \nIf you do not have your own climbing shoes\, harness or belay device you should be able to hire them from their shop. \nIf you want to lead climb\, we would suggest you bring your own single rope. A 30m rope would be ideal\, but any length will work. \nThis is not a training session\, but we should have experienced members on hand to observe your belaying technique if you are new to the club\, or you’d like us to observe any rusty skills post-long periods off climbing. \nThe BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
