DESCRIPTION:A staple of the London climbing scene\, The Castle is also a regular meeting point for MMC members who are often found climbing there\, so come along for an afternoon of climbing. \n\nDate: Sunday 19 July 2026\nTime: 12pm – 5pm\nClosest Station: Manor House Underground Station (Piccadilly Line)\nOrganiser: Mo  socialsec@themmc.org.uk\nSign up: https://forms.gle/ZvPbSii47j2kvshz7\nPub/Foods: From 3pm we’ll go to The Brownswood Pub: https://thebrownswood.co.uk/ for some food\, snacks\, and an opporunity to meet non-climbing members.\n\n\nProspectives – All prospective members to the club must let us know they are joining us so we can look out for you. \nMembers – you’re more than welcome to join! Let us know if you’re coming along. \nNon-Castle members will need to pre-book or pay on arrival. Please check their website.  \nIf you do not have your own climbing shoes\, harness or belay device you should be able to hire them from their shop. \nIf you want to lead climb\, we would suggest you bring your own single rope. A 30m rope would be ideal\, but any length will work. \nThis is not a training session\, but we should have experienced members on hand to observe your belaying technique if you are new to the club\, or you’d like us to observe any rusty skills post-long periods off climbing. \nThe BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

SUMMARY:Llangollen (Clwyd)
DESCRIPTION:It’s North Wales\, but further East than we usually hang out! Llangollen has plenty of limestone to go at for the climbers\, including loads of sport routes at Trevor Quarry and trad at Dinbren Crags. It’s a hidden gem! \nIt’s also a beautiful area to walk through\, including a UNESCO World Heritage Site which covers the eleven miles of canal from Chirk Bank to Horseshoe Falls. Or if you want to gain a bit more height there’s the 8.5km Panorama walk that takes you up to Creifiau Eflwyseg\, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain range.
