DESCRIPTION:We’re doing the unusual\, we’re going to (S)Portland early this year. \nTaking advantage of smaller crowds we’ll climb all day and enjoy our evenings at a campsite surrounded by trees that provide protection from the wind and a pub just down the road. \nVery importantly\, as we’ll be just outside of Weymouth\, walkers have the opportunity to see the Dorset coast and the beautiful sights along it\, rejoining the climbers in the evening! https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/england/dorset/weymouth/walking \nDate: Friday 19th April – Sunday 21st April 2024 \nTime: When you or your travelling group is ready! \nLocation: Rosewall Campsite – https://www.weymouthcamping.com/camping/ \nOrganiser: Damien is running this – please contact him via meets@themmc.org.uk \nRegistration Form: https://forms.gle/wes8z7ZUzhXDHrubA \nTo our Prospective Members – we support our members in showing the ropes to new climbers\, however please recognise if you haven’t had any trad-climbing training yet as a seconder or have had regular indoor rope experience (for sport climbing)\, you may be requested to join the walking group(s) if the climbing leaders do not feel comfortable to take you out. This is a decision we will support. There will be a specific training meet a bit later in the year. \nThe BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
