Bowles Rocks – Intro to the MMC

Some love it, some hate it, but Southern Sandstone is a rite of passage for all climbers and we can’t have enough of it, so join us for a day of climbing at Bowles.
- Date: Saturday 18 April 2026 (or potentially Sunday the 19th of April if it’s raining on Saturday)
- Time: 10:30am – 5pm
- Closest Station: Eridge (National Rail)
- Organiser: Mo (Social Secretary) – socialsec@themmc.org.uk
- Sign up:
- Pub/Foods: From 3pm we’ll go to The Huntsman: https://huntsmanpuberidge.co.uk/ or some food, snacks, and chatter.
Prospectives – All prospective members to the club must let us know they are joining us so we can look out for you. Perspective members will need an official belay check before joining this meet.
Members – you’re more than welcome to join! Let us know if you’re coming along.
To help us organise, we have put up a kit check-list in the sign-up form, so please let us know what you can bring and we’ll confirm details on the Whatsapp group a few days before the social.
Most will be travelling by train from London. We will not be organising lifts but will ask a member to be at the station in London (around 9 am) or to meet you on the platform or to meet at the end location in Eridge.
The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
