The one we’ve been waiting for. The North Wales training meet! Join us for a walk, a climb, or some climbing training – take your pick.
Date: Friday 28th May – Monday 31st May
Location: Dolgam Campsite
Contact Oli & Matt – training@themmc.org.uk – detailing whether you will be joining us for walking, climbing, or trad training. Please be aware that this meet is now full.
This is a camping meet so you’ll need camping gear / rent a tent onsite if available / campervan or plan appropriate alternatives. Please check the campsite website for other options and let us know your plans.
Everyone is invited to the weekend but we are also providing the opportunity for members and prospective members new to trad climbing to be trained by instructors with other prospective and current members over two days at beginner and intermediate levels.
We’ll need to know your interest in training as soon as possible (before April 12th) to arrange the deposits. If there is more interest than spaces available, we can look at asking for more trainers so please don’t be shy.
We may have to move the training dates if there isn’t enough interest to train in North Wales or if we lose the temporary space.
A reminder that for those not attending training, we will not be accepting any on-the-day arrivals and require attendees to fill out a form prior to the event. Therefore you must be in contact with us from at least the week before or at the earliest convenience.
(Lockdown) Organised Outdoor Sports Activities Guidance (Updated 28/03/2021):
From the 29th March, Clubs are able to run organised sports activities. There are no official limitations outlines by the Government, Sports England, or the BMC.
We will continue to apply social distancing rules as expected for everyone and to assist in maintaining attendee safety we may have a rough limit of 30 attendees. This includes reserving around five places for experienced members who can act as responsible persons if the event needs to split into smaller groups.
This is subject to changes in recommendations from Sports England and the BMC.
