The Castle is home to many of our members – some even call it their spiritual home, so let’s go there and join them for an afternoon of climbing!
Prospectives – All prospective members to the club must let us know they are joining us so we can look out for you, and as a prerequisite to joining our Bowles climbing meet on May the 31st, and our trad Peak District climbing training meet in June, all prospective members will need an official belay check, so please join us on this social to check your belay technique.
Members – you’re more than welcome to join! Let us know if you’re coming along.
Non-Castle members will need to pre-book or pay on arrival. Please check their website.
If you do not have your own climbing shoes, harness or belay device you should be able to hire them from their shop.
If you want to lead climb, we would suggest you bring your own single rope. A 30m rope would be ideal, but any length will work.
This is not a training session, but we should have experienced members on hand to observe your belaying technique if you are new to the club, or you’d like us to observe any rusty skills post-long periods off climbing.
The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
