To our Prospective Members – we support our members in showing the ropes to new climbers, however due to the coastal conditions for most of the climbing we restrict climbing to members only. Exception will be made for the member’s partners or family (with the expectation they do not climb if they are inexperienced) so they can enjoy the bank holiday together.

There will be a specific trad training meet a bit later in the year and if available, we can direct you to coast-based BMC training training sessions should you wish to gain coastal experience in a training environment.

The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
