We’re off to the lovely Yorkshire!
For the climbers, you won’t have that far to go to find Almscliffe Crag. Perfect. 😁
We’ll be in the perfect spot for walkers to wander around locally or head north of the campsite for some adventure. If you’re wanting an extra challenge, you can go a bit further up for a full day taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge: https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/yorkshire-three-peaks-challenge/
If you were wondering: the three peaks – Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually completed in this order in under 12 hours. And with the extra sunlight, you’ll have a nice amount of daylight to do it in!
**We have last-minute changed campsites**
To our Prospective Members – we support our members in showing the ropes to new climbers, however please recognise if you haven’t had any trad-climbing training yet as a seconder or have had regular indoor rope experience (for sport climbing), you may be requested to join the walking group(s) if the climbing leaders do not feel comfortable to take you out. This is a decision we will support.
The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
